Man Held for Charges Following Traffic Stop

A 43-year-old Fountain Inn man was being held for potential charges following a traffic stop around 10:25 last night. Laurens County Deputy Sheriff Devin Hodges reported he was traveling onGreen Pond Roadin the direction of theGreenvilleCountyline last night when he observed a vehicle with an expired license plate. He made a traffic stop on the pickup, and took the driver into custody. The deputy noted the rear tires of the truck had worn down to show wires. The Driver was ticketed on charges of Driving an Uninsured Vehicle, Having an Expired Tag, and Driving with Unsafe Tires. Meanwhile, Lt. Cheek advised the on-scene officers to place a hold on the man for recent crimes in that area of the county. Pictures were taken on various items found in the rear and cab of the ragged old pickup. It was later towed from the scene.

We hope to have more details on this story on Friday’s news, based on what charges may be forth-coming today.
