Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to East Florida Street at 11:29 Saturday morning regarding a disturbance between two men. One man claimed the other threatened him with a knife. The other man said the knife was not presented, but that the one who claimed that had awakened in a bad mood and threatened the same. No charges were filed during the initial investigation.
Harassing Phone calls to a Clinton woman were reported to Public Safety shortly before 6 Saturday evening. A woman indicated that a man was now calling her night and day after being told to stop. The man had reportedly been making harassing calls that she reported to Public Safety. He had stopped for a few weeks, but was not at it again. When an officer talked with the man, he indicated he would stop the calls and erase the woman’s number from his phone.
Just after midnight this morning, a Laurens woman advised Laurens City Police that someone was using her vehicle without her consent. She said she had let her son borrow her car to go play horseshoes as usual every week. She said he brought the car back, but then left with it again after they got into an argument. He would not answer her phone calls and had not brought the car back. She indicated that he was back at his home with her car parked in front of his apartment, but he would still not answer her phone calls or come to the door when she knocked on it. An officer also attempted to get him to the door without success.
