The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a plant at 576 International Blvd, Fountain Inn at 9:35 yesterday morning on a report of damage to a 10 x 10 man-hole cover. There is a pipe coming out of the area for the plant’s fire suppression system. It appears that a tractor-trailer rig had turned into the parking lot and the trailer ran up on the curb, hitting the cover and causing it to move and break. An employee noted that trucks from other plants use their parking lot as a turn-around area. There is a $5,000 estimate for repair of the damage.
