Laurens City Police yesterday made an arrest in connection with allegedly forged checks just under two years ago. 24-year-old Julius Jomar Hawkins of #5 Jossie’s Trail, Laurens was charged with two Counts of Forgery. Detective Tony Lynch states that Julius Hawkins went to Ingle’s on East Main on May 6th, 2011 presented a forged check for $100, and that he presented another forged check on the same victim’s account at Ingle’s on May 9th that year. Julius Hawkins was being held in the Johnson Detention Center earlier today, pending arraignment on the charge.
