Laurens Couple Still Behind Bars

   Laurens City Police yesterday served warrants of Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Illegal Disposal of Meth waste, after arresting them after executing a search warrant at their home at 8:42 Wednesday night. 46-year-old Tammy Renee Sumeral and 46-year-old James Andrew Sumeral, both of 688 North Harper Street, Laurens were accused of having items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine in their possession, including a one-pot bottle with a working methamphetamine reaction. Detective Walter Bentley states this was discovered during execution of a search warrant at688 North Harper Street. Detective Bentley states the defendants disposed of methamphetamine waste unlawfully by placing it in trash bags and cans for trash pickup.

Bonds were set at $25,000 on the manufacturing charge and $15,000 on the illegal disposal charge. Both Tammy and James Sumeral remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning in lieu of $40,000 cash or surety bond.
