Crimestoppers Award for Laurens Robbery Arrests

The Laurens County Crimestoppers Board of Directors approved a cash award yesterday in connection with the arrest of two Armed Robbery suspects.CaptainChrissieCofield, Interim Laurens City Police Chief, told WLBG that it was a tip that led to the arrest of two people in connection with an Armed Robbery in town back in January.

“Basically, on January 10th at approximately 10 pm we received a call stating that two individuals had come into the store, armed with a gun, and stole some money. We had very little information to go on and because of a Crimestoppers tip we were able to arrest two individuals in this case.”

Laurens County Crimestoppers President John Young said that by calling Crimestoppers of Laurens County with information on a crime, you can be eligible for a cash award without having to tell anyone who you are:

“They don’t have to give their name. The bank issues them a check. They do not have to sign the check. They just take that check to a teller and the teller gives them cash.”

The Crimestoppers Board yesterday approved a cash award of $250 for the tip that led to the two arrests in late January. Anyone who wants to call in information and be eligible for other tips payments can call the Laurens County Crimestoppers number:  68-CRIME.
