Clinton Public Safety Make Alleged Meth Lab Arrest

   Clinton Public Safety arrested a city resident Saturday night after allegedly finding a meth lab. 34-year-old Jeramy Randall Jones of 302 Chestnut Street, Clinton was arrested at 9:32 Saturday night, charged with multiple offenses. On the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Public Safety Officer Josh Ritter states that on April 6th Mr. Jones did manufacture methamphetamine by having in his possession 5 pounds of salt, 16 ounces of lye, 16 ounces of sulfuric acid, 8 ounces of ammonia nitrate, lithium strips and 5 ounces of Coleman fuel, which had been used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

On a Possession of Methamphetamine charge, Jeramy Jones is accused of having glass pipe used for the consumption of methamphetamine in his possession. He’s also charged with Illegal Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste for allegedly placing it outside and burning it and by leaving bottles used to manufacture methamphetamine open in the back yard of his residence. Jeramy Jones was also charged with Possession of a Schedule IV Narcotic and Illegal Possession of a Prescription Drug for allegedly having a Schedule IV Narcotic and other prescription medicine in his possession April 6th without proper prescription. He is also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Officer Ritter states that Jones had drug paraphernalia in his possession April 6th that included a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine with residue, rolling papers, a plastic straw with residue, electronic scales with residue and a funnel used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Finally, there was a charge of Petit Larceny, in which Jeramy Jane is accused of entering premises of another person on Oak Street Saturday without consent and took batteries and various metals.

Bonds from $470 to $3,000 and $5,000 were set on the various charges. Jeramy Jones remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning with bonds totaling in excess of $22,000.
