Where’s the Paint Ball Gun?

Laurens Police were dispatched to Hillcrest Drive at 3:06 yesterday afternoon on a report of individuals shooting paint balls out of a vehicle. Officers were told that a 16-yer-old juvenile offender was in the front passenger seat of a burgundy Toyota pickup wearing an orange shirt. There was a report that this individual had shot the trash can behind Sharon’s Florist of Church Street, and other individuals in the vehicle were reportedly throwing other items out of the vehicle windows. While talking with other possible witnesses on Hillcrest Drive, an officer observed the suspect vehicle. Police made a traffic stop and identified four subjects in the truck. No paintball gun was found at the time, and none of those inside admitted to shooting the trash can. Officers were investigating a reported recent meeting between this vehicle and another as a possible explanation for the paint-gun not being in the truck when they stopped it. The case remained under investigation of Officer Jody Thibodeau and Lt. Heath Copeland.
