Sometimes You Should NOT “Reach Out & Touch”

Telephones, especially cell-phones, are an integral part of life for most folks these days; but one should remember that there are times when you should not make that call or send that test. We have two cases in point:

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday arrested 59-year-old Dewey Daniel “Danny” Brothers of 3299 Whitten Road, Waterloo on the charge: Unlawful Use of a Telephone. Deputy Jimmy Johnson alleges that on April 19th Mr. Brothers, in a telephone communication with a female victim, did use profane, obscene, vulgar and/or indecent language; doing so repeatedly for the purpose of annoying/harassing the victim and/or her family. Danny Brothers remained in the Johnson Detention Center, pending arraignment today.

Clinton Public Safety yesterday charged a local man with Unlawful Use of a Telephone. 41-year-old James Michael Samples of Apartment 8 at 200 South Woodrow Street was accused of calling another man several times back on February 20th, threatening to “jump on” the victim. The warrant states that law enforcement told Mr. Samples to stop the calling and texting but that he did not. James Michael Samples was released from City Jail on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
