LDHS Robotics Team “Rookie All-Star”

The Laurens High School Robotics Team had a Great experience in St. Louis last week as they participated in their first International Robotics Competition. The team was formed this school year in cooperation with the Bosh Rexroth plant in Fountain Inn, and used facilities in the plant for constructing the robot they used in the competitions. The team performed well in its first-ever regional competitions in Myrtle Beach and Orlando over the past three months, then was able to travel to St. Louis for the International competition. Coach Rob Sheffield reported that although the Laurens High team was not chosen for the elimination rounds, the team did finish with a 5 and 3 record. Coach Sheffield said the highlight of the trip was when the Laurens Robotics Team was selected as the Newton Division Rookie All-Star. He called the extended weekend a Great – but tiring – experience.
