Laurens County 911 Dispatch received a call last night from an unknown person saying they could hear a man telling a woman he was going to cut her throat. Lt. Marty Crain responded to a location on Gopher Trail, Laurens where the caller had indicated the threats were heard. The man who answered the door was questioned about what was going on and he reportedly replied “nothing,” that he was in bed. A woman then came from the bedroom and Lt. Crain noted the 911 call about threats being made. The man reportedly looked at the woman and she replied she had not called. He allegedly became agitated and told the officer “we didn’t call so hit the road.” After further conversation the man was reportedly becoming more irate so he was placed in handcuffs and put in the patrol car, and the woman was questioned. She reportedly indicated they had a fight and he hit her and pushed her onto the bed and made a threat if she cheated on him. Lt. Crain then transported 37-year-old Thomas Allison West of 102 Wilma Lane, Laurens to the Johnson Detention Center. He was being held for charges to be specified in a warrant to be sought today.
