Road Closed While Deputies Made Arrest

    Charlotte’s Road near Clinton was temporarily closed before 8 Saturday evening as the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was working an incident with a potentially barricaded individual in a home in the vicinity of Charlotte’s Road and Flannel Drive.

   At 8:47 Saturday evening, the Sheriff’s Office announced Charlotte’s Road was reopened and the scene had been secured.

   21-year-old Kevin Boyce Patterson of 1080 Fuller Road, Clinton was arrested after an alleged stand-off with the Laurens County Special Operations Response Team. He was reportedly taken into custody with use of a tazer more than once to gain compliance.

Kevin Patterson has been charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a violent Crime and with Resisting Arrest.

  Deputy Summers states in warrants that based on an investigation of Lt. Jawarski Shelton the defendant threatened the victim with a hand gun, and that he has been convicted of a violent crime. He is further charged with resisting a legal arrest by Lt. Shelton. Bonds were set on the charges this weekend totaling $20,000. Kevin Patterson remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
