Laurens County Sheriff’s Lt. Keith McIntosh reported observing a black SUV turning left onto Rabon Church Road at 12:08 yesterday afternoon. A check indicated the license plate on the vehicle was stolen from Laurens County, so the officer activated blue lights and made a traffic stop. The driver allegedly did not have proof of ownership of the car nor proof of insurance. The driver was placed under arrest. With assistance from other officers, a search reportedly located a black container with two pills and a marijuana roach was reportedly located in the ash tray. 45-year-old Joel Lamond Bridges of 141 Lodgeview Court, Gray Court was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and with Receiving Stolen Goods. In warrants, he is accused of being in possession of Clonazepam, a Schedule IV controlled substance, without authority to do so. Lt. McIntosh further states that Bridges had in his possession on Rabon Church Road yesterday a license plate that was stolen from a location in Laurens County. Tickets were also issued by Lt. McIntosh charging Bridges with Failure to Register, No Proof of Insurance and with Simple Possession of Marijuana. Joel Bridges remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning, pending arraignment on the warrants.
