An automobile break-in charge was served yesterday on a woman arrested the previous evening and held for warrants. 27-year-old Kimberly Dianne Wooten of 800 Spring Street, Laurens was charged with Trespassing and with Breaking into a Motor Vehicle.
Wooten is charged with entering another woman’s property on Hampton Street, Joanna Wednesday after being asked to leave and having been warned in the past. She is also accused of breaking into a vehicle owned by that woman at the location on South Hampton Street, Joanna on Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene at 4:50 Wednesday afternoon after the resident there reported she was sitting inside her home when she heard her car alarm sounding and saw the subject trying to open the hood of her car. The owner said she went out to find the subject in the driver’s seat, saying she just wanted to borrow the car and would return it. Cpl Christy Johnston reportedly located the subject at her grandmothers’ house on the same street. Kimberly Wooten was being held in the Johnson Detention Center with bonds on the two charges totaling $4,470.
