The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday arrested a Clinton man in connection with the alleged theft of metals and materials valued in the thousands from a motel & restaurant facility on Highway 56 at Interstate 26.
72-year-old Vincent Proietto of 858 Barrel Stave Road, Clinton was charged with Grand Larceny and with Injury to Property. Sgt. Scott Franklin alleges that on June 25th the subject took metals, copper, steel, duct work and air compressors and that he also allowed other individuals to do so. This allegedly occurred at 12490 Highway 56 North, Clinton. Damage to property was estimated at $10,000 or more. Sgt. Franklin also alleges that on June 25th the subject took away copper wire and also allowed other individuals to do so with into to deprive the same victim.
Vincent Proietto remained in the Johnson Detention Center overnight, pending arraignment.
