Laurens City Police yesterday served warrants on a woman who had allegedly entered an apartment in town the previous evening by jumping through a window. The resident told of hearing a crash downstairs and finding a bleeding intruder inside the apartment. 27-year-old Crystal Gail Smith was booked in the Johnson Detention Center with an address noted at 24434 Highway 221 South, Waterloo. Warrants served yesterday charged her with Trespassing and with Malicious Damage. She is accused of unlawfully entering another woman’s apartment on Pinehaven Street Extension Tuesday night, and in the process she’s accused of maliciously damaging a window in the apartment on Pinehaven Street Extension by jumping through it, causing it to be destroyed. Bonds were set on the two charges yesterday totaling $3,000. Crystal Smith remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning.
