Laurens City Police arrested two residents of a Church Street apartment Friday after executing a search warrant at their residence. 22-year-old Akeem Golden of 900 Church Street #E-2, Laurens was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession with Intent within Proximity of a School.
Mr. Golden is accused of having in his possession a quantity of a green leaf-like substance believed to be marijuana, and that is was in clear plastic bags and glass jars. A warrant states that the substance was found inside his bedroom closet in apartment #E-2 at Laurens Glenn during a search warrant for drugs and stolen property. $5,000 cash or surety bonds were set on each of the two charges. Akeem Golden was released from the Johnson Detention Center Saturday.
41-year-old Deanna DeLoren Calwile of the same address was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine and Simple Possession of Marijuana. She is accused of having a quantity of crack cocaine in a clear plastic bag inside her bedroom closet and of having a substance believed to be marijuana in a clear plastic bag within a plastic bowl in her kitchen during execution of a search warrant Friday. She was released on bonds totaling $5,620 early Saturday evening.
