The Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Wasson Gin Road in the Hickory Tavern area at 8:22 yesterday morning to investigate a burglary. Sgt. John Carter arrived and was shown where someone had broken a window to an office building at the location, apparently between 2 Friday afternoon and 8 yesterday morning. Nothing inside the building appeared to be tampered with. It also appeared that someone had tried to break into three storage buildings on the property. Two of the buildings had visible marks on the doors. Damage to one appeared to be from a crow bar. Damage to a second building included a door being broken as someone apparently tried to pry the damaged part of the door to gain entry. The third building had damaged wood on one outside wall. Shoe or boot prints were located in nearby mud.
