Early this month, South Carolina Department of Natural Resource agents arrested four young Waterloo men on multiple charges of illegal operation of personal watercraft. The four were eventually also charged in connection with a series of personal watercraft thefts in the Waterloo area of Lake Greenwood. The Sheriff’s Office then announced it was looking for another suspect in connection with those thefts. 22-year-old Jamey Lee Trent of 290 Flotella Road, Waterloo was arrested around July 19th and charged with Six Counts of Grand Larceny, alleging the theft of Seven Jet Skis from six locations. He has also been served with Two Counts of 1st Degree Burglary. Yesterday, DNR added four charges related to Jet Ski operations, as the other subjects were initially charged. He was charged yesterday with Disregarding Navigational Markers, Operating a Personal Watercraft after Sunset, Reckless Operation of a Personal Watercraft and Failure to Stop for a Blue Light. Jamey Lee Trent was also being held for Spartanburg. He remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
