Laurens County Deputies were dispatched to Saratoga Street outside Clinton just before 5 yesterday afternoon on a domestic call. Both the woman and man had left when Deputy Johnson arrived. Captain Luther Richardson observed a vehicle about a mile down the road with the man and woman inside. The man reportedly said his eye was cut from trying to hang a picture and his hands were cut because he hit the wall afterward. The woman said the marks on her neck and her swollen left eye was due to her falling and hitting the railing on the step. After further investigation, officers decided the woman had been struck by the boyfriend. 25-year-old Mario Angel Pridgen of 201 Saratoga Street, Clinton was arrested on a Simple Criminal Domestic Violence charge. He was being held in the Johnson Detention Center overnight, pending arraignment today.
