The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to investigate a car fire on Smyrna Hill Road at 9:52 last night at the request of the Waterloo Fire Department. The entire 2004 Chevy Trail Blazer was burned by the fire. The resident of the location where the car had burned reported he had gone to the store and returned to find the vehicle on fire. He identified another Waterloo man as the owner and said the car was at his house for him to work on, but that he had not started working on it. Deputy Paterson was informed about a possible witness of interest. There was indication that a neighbor had reported observing another vehicle come to the location and someone from that vehicle briefly going into the car before leaving. That witness was not immediately located last night.
