Laurens City Police Friday arrested a man wanted from an Armed Robbery the previous month. 20-year-old Tevin Brown of 200 Hardin Road, Laurens was charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Giving False Information to Police in connection with the armed robbery in June. He’s further charged with Purse Snatching and Flight upon Sight from incidents this past Friday.
Tevin Brown is accused of taking money from the Family Video Store at 627 East Main on June 19th while armed with a handgun. He is further accused of giving false information to police as they were investigating that armed robbery.
Warrants also allege that this past Friday, July 26th Tevin O’Neil Brown did flee on foot upon sight of Detective Jared Hunnicutt and Lt. Don Evans of the Laurens Police Department. He allegedly ran from the Corner Stop at 1218 Greenwood Road and hid behind the Harvest Market, then came out of hiding and ran back across the street and into a wooded area while the officers were in food pursuit. Refusing orders to halt, he reportedly jumped two fences before finally being subdued and placed under arrest in the parking lot of Wilson’s Curb Market on South Harper Street Extension.
Bonds set during arraignment reportedly totaled over $235,000. Tevin Brown remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
