One man was being questioned this morning in connection with an alleged robbery of another homeless man last night. Laurens Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Fleming Street at 9:08 pm in reference to an individual who was bleeding from his head.
The 68-year-old victim indicated he had been assaulted by another man. He said they were together at the Fleming street address and that the other man had pushed him off the porch, causing him to cut his head. He said the other man then took $84 from him, and his 40-count prescription of Digoxin. The victim was advised to contact police today when he has sobered up. He was then transported by EMS to the Laurens County Memorial Hospital. Around 5 this morning, Laurens Police were questioning a person of interest in the case, but no charges had been filed specific to the assault or robbery.
