Prayer for School Year Set for Thursday

The 4th Annual “Prayer Gathering” for School District 56 has been announced for next week. The past three years people from the community have joined pastors, teachers and political leaders for a prayer service prior to the opening day of school.

This year’s Prayer Gathering will be held on Thursday, August 15th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Clinton High School. This Prayer Gathering is open for all of the people of our churches (not just pastors) of every denomination. Rev. Sherrill Green of Clinton First Pentecostal Holiness Church noted “There is something special that happens when God’s people gather together “with one accord in one place” and he encouraged local residents to “fill that auditorium to capacity as, together, we pray for God’s blessing and provision on the new school year and cover the youth of our community with prayer.”
