2013 Laurens County Touchdown Club Information

A stellar slate of speakers highlights the 2013 season for the Laurens County Touchdown Club as they kick off the season on Friday, August 30 at Lakeside Country Club.

The club, whose aim is to “promote a spirit of cooperation and organization through a common interest, FOOTBALL,” recognizes college and high school football players for their on-field achievements and accomplishments.

The kickoff meeting will be held at noon, Aug. 30 at the Lakeside Country Club and will feature Presbyterian College Head Coach Harold Nichols, Clinton High School Head Coach Scott King, Laurens District 55 High School Head Coach Greg Lawson and Laurens Academy Head Coach Tyler Vanhook as guest speakers.

At each meeting, players of the week for CHS, LDHS, LA and PC will be recognized for their achievements on the field.

The Touchdown Club will host eight meetings total this year. The remaining schedule of speakers includes:

September 13– Robbie Caldwell, Assistant Coach, Clemson University

September 27 – Gary Paterson, ACC Football Official

October 11 – Jerome Singleton, Commissioner of the SCHSL

October 25 – Mike Ayers, Head Coach of the Wofford Terriers

November 8 – Kyle Kallander, Commissioner of the Big South Conference

November 22 – Will Merritt Clemson Color Commentator and “Voice of the Gamecocks” Todd Ellis

December 4– (Annual Banquet) Coach Danny Ford, Coach of Clemson 1981 National Championship Football Team


Single Membership  ($150) – includes all meals and one banquet ticket.
