A man Clinton Public Safety arrested Tuesday night and held for multiple drug charges was served with those charges from Clinton yesterday, along with four more charges from Laurens City Police.
33-year-old James Aaron Campbell of 301 Elizabeth Street, Clinton was initially given a citation charging him with a Drug Paraphernalia violation at 7:45 Tuesday evening.
Yesterday, Clinton Public Safety served three warrants charging him with Possession of Methamphetamine, Illegal Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and Possession of Hypodermic Needles and/or Syringes. He is alleged to have been found with two coffee filters in his possession that contained methamphetamine, which would be a second offense for him. He also is alleged to have had five orange and white capsules identified as a Schedule II narcotic in his possession.
Bonds set at $15,000 on the Meth charge and $2,000 on the other two warrants, plus $620 on the Tuesday night citation.
Laurens City Police yesterday served James Campbell with four charges of Attempt to Purchase Euphedrine. Detective Leann Riggott alleges that James Aaron Campbell attempted or conspired to obtain more than 9 grams of ephedrine/psuedoephedrine products in a 30-day period. Each warrant cited incidents June 3rd at Walgreen’s on East Main, June 17th at Rite-Aid on North Harper and at Wal-Mart on East Main; and June 19th at Wal-Mart. $500 personal recognizance bonds were set on each of the four Attempt to Purchase charges.
James Aaron Campbell remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning with bonds totaling $21,620 on all eight charges.
