Deputy Sheriff Devin Hodges responded to Pemberton Street, Waterloo at 8:33 last night on a report that a Ware Shoals man had stolen a small 4×8 trailer from the victim’s yard, along with several tools valued at $547. The man who allegedly took the trailer had reportedly sold it to the victim a while back. Lt. Higgenbotham and Sgt. William Johnston joined Deputy Hodges in going to the suspect’s residence. The man was placed in investigative detention and informed of his Miranda rights. He reportedly said he still owned the trailer, but was unable to provide documentation of that. Meanwhile consent to search was reportedly obtained. Deputies allegedly discovered less than an ounce of marijuana and under a gram of methamphetamine in the purse of a woman who was at the residence. Deputies also allegedly located other drug paraphernalia and a Lorcin 9 MM handgun in the residence. Both were then arrested for charges.
The man reportedly told deputies where he had left the trailer. It was recovered with no tools still on the trailer. One tool was reportedly located in the subject’s truck, but the other tools were still missing.
