A man serving time in the State Department of Corrections was returned to Laurens County Friday to face additional charges from Clinton Public Safety. 37-year-old James Matthew Cheeks of 590 Phillips Street, Clinton was sentenced to 5 years, suspended to 2 years with 3 years probation during General Sessions Court in August of 2012. He is now facing additional charges from Clinton Public Safety including Two Charges of Drug Manufacture and Two Charges of Drug Distribution. Cash or Surety Bonds on the four charges totaled $70,000, according to the Johnson Detention Center.
