Too Drunk to Report Robbery

A 35-year-old Laurens man came to Laurens Police at 10 Sunday morning and reported a robbery that he said had happened between 2 and 3 in the morning. He said he didn’t report the robbery after it happened because he was intoxicated and was afraid he would be arrested for public intoxication. He indicated he had left the Lil’ Cricket on North Harper and was walking on Creamer Street when a man approached him saying “Let’s do this one,” which he understood to mean “let’s fight.” He said the man walked up to his face and hit him with a fist, then someone came up from behind him and put him in a choke hold. He then was put to the ground with a strike to his head. He said the subjects took his wallet containing personal items and $10 cash.
