Laurens City Police arrested a man around 2 this morning in connection with an alleged forgery last month. 47-year-old William Michael Cummings of 123 Windstone Drive, Greenville was charged with Forgery Enhanced. Detective Leann Riggott states that on September 23rd the Defendant did forge and publish as true a check in the amount of $250 drawn on Suntrust Bank, knowing the document to be forged. She alleges this was for the purpose of obtaining value or benefit from the forged document. This allegedly occurred at the Suntrust Bank at 201 West Main in Laurens. William Michael Cummings was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending arraignment.
