Multiple Warrants signed after car chase

Wednesday WLBG News reported on two people being held in the LaurensCountyDetentionCenter following a car chase. A Highway Patrol trooper reportedly attempted to stop a car for having no tail lights at 6:07 am then observed erratic driving as the Buick Regal continued northbound on I-385. The chase began at the 12 mile marker between Laurens and Gray Court. It continued until the Patrol reportedly forced the fleeing vehicle off the road at exit 24, Fairview Street, Fountain Inn.

The Highway Patrol arrested the alleged driver, 26-year-old Ashley Ann Smith of 3342 Warrior Creek Church Road, Gray Court, and placed her in the JohnsonDetentionCenter awaiting warrants. A passenger, 28-year-old Mitchell Harden Lyons of 117 Garlington Street, Laurens, was also jailed. The vehicle, owned by another Garlington Street resident, was impounded. As of thursday afternoon, multiple warrants were issued for Ashley Ann Smith, the first stating she did knowingly and intentionally posses clonazepam, a schedule 4 narcotic without authority to do so.

Another warrant stated she did knowingly and intentionally posses amphetamine, a schedule two drug.

A third warrant issued for possession of Hydrocodone, a schedule two narcotic.

A fourth warrant for Possession of  marijuana with the intent to manufacture, distribute, dispense, deliver or purchase.

A fifth warrant for possession of Methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, distribute dispense, deliver or purchase a schedule two drug.

A sixth warrant stating the transport of open liquors in a motor vehicle except in trunk, luggage, or cargo area.

A seventh for Driving under suspension

An eighth warrant for Failure to stop for blue light

A ninth warrant for Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol

And a tenth warrant for Operating vehicle while unsafe to do so.

Ashley Ann Smith is currently Being held in the JohnsonDetentionCenter on over $90k bond
