Mail Box Thefts near Cross Hill

  Two reports of Mail Boxes being stolen dispatched Laurens County Deputy Rakeisha Hill-Mobley to Stagecoach Road, Cross Hill just after 8:30 yesterday morning. One resident said her mailbox, valued at $230, was there at 7 Sunday evening, but was gone at 8 yesterday morning. Deputy Hill-Mobley located the stolen mailbox lying on the side of the road at the intersection of Highway 39 and Watts Bridge Road. She returned it to the resident. A second resident of Stagecoach Road, Cross Hill said her mailbox was discovered missing at 5:30 yesterday morning. It had also last been seen at 7 Sunday evening. In this case, the woman’s husband found the stolen mailbox and brought it to Buck’s Quick Stop, where photos were taken to document the case. This mail box was reported valued at $50.
