Clinton Public Safety Officer Phillip Wicker responded at 12:29 this morning to a report of an intoxicated male walking down Academy Street screaming slurs. While on the way dispatch advised him the subject was on Sloan Street. The subject was reportedly found lying beside the sidewalk on Sloan Street in an extremely intoxicated state. When asked how much alcohol he had consumed, the man allegedly became loud and boisterous, screaming he had not drunk anything. As he was taken into custody, Officer Wicker reportedly had to overcome the subject attempting to pull away. Once taken to the police station, the subject allegedly head-butted another officer. 22-year-old Andrew Polson of 115 Milling Street, Clinton was being held in city jail with changes pending for Assault on a Police Officer, Public Intoxication, Resisting Arrest and Malicious Damage to City Property.
