You may notice more facial hair on some law enforcement officers this month than usual. In fact, more than policy usually allows. The reason is “No Shave November.”
We understand this is a campaign that began in the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office in support of Greenwood City Police Officer Corey Boyter. His wife Alisha Boyter and their unborn child were both killed in a wreck in Greenwood September 28th. Fellow Greenwood City Officers have also joined in the campaign, along with Fountain Inn Police, Laurens City Police and some deputies with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
Participating officers are contributing $25 to a fund to help Officer Boyter with funeral expenses for his wife and unborn child.
Laurens County Deputy Steven Sweat and Laurens City Officer Patrick Craven are collecting the $25 donations from their respective agencies, and will deliver the funds at the end of “No Shave November.” Deputy Sweat worked with Officer Boyter when employed by Greenwood City Police.
