Large quantities of marijuana, xanax and cash were reportedly seized as the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office along with the Laurens City Police Department executed a search warrant at 5228 Highway 221 South of Laurens Tuesday. Officers report that upon searching the residence they located approximately 8 pounds of Marijuana, approximately $4,800.00 in cash and a quantity of Xanax. Arrested was forty-year-old Spencer Kevin Deyton of the same address. Deaton was transported to the Johnson Detention Center and has been charged with Possession With The Intent To Distribute Marijuana and Possession Of A Controlled Substance. In warrants, Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigator Matt Veal states that Spencer Kevin Deyton possessed marijuana with intent to distribute and that this is a 2nd offense, noting that Deyton has a prior conviction for this offense. The investigator alleged that Deyton also possessed a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Xanax, with the intent to Distribute, and that he also has a prior conviction for that offense.
Spencer Kevin Deyton of 5228 Highway 221 South, Laurens was released from the Johnson Detention Center yesterday on personal recognizance bonds of $5,000 on each of the two charges.
