Deputy Sheriff Jeremy McMahan was dispatched to the 600 address range of Ranch Road outside Laurens at 1:49 this morning to investigate a break-in. A man said when he returned home from work early this morning he found his side door had been forced open. The Deputy found where someone had taken some crow-bar type of prying tool and forced the door open at the deadbolt. The resident said some things had been thrown around in his den. The first thing he noticed as missing was a high school ring with an emerald. Then he noticed a gold cluster diamond ring and two men’s watches were missing from a dresser in his room. A flashlight was found near where the items had been taken from. The initial estimate of items taken was valued at $800.
