The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested an Upstate man yesterday in connection with a traffic accident in Laurens County almost two years ago. 30-year-old Jonathan Wayne Herndon of Unit #8 at 101 Paradise Road, Pelzer was served with warrants charging him with Hit and Run and with Driving Too Fast for Conditions. The warrants alleged that on January 31st, 2012 at approximately 6:50 pm Jonathan Wayne Herndon did operate a vehicle on Neely Ferry Road too fast for conditions, and that the vehicle he was driving was involved in a collision on Neely Ferry Road and a man and a woman were named as victims in the warrant.
Highway Patrol Cpl M. W. Jones further alleges that Jonathan Herndon fled the scene of the collision on foot. Herndon remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning, pending a bond hearing on the two charges.
