4th Person Charged with Weekend Theft from Hunter Industrial Park

 A fourth person has been charged in connection with the Thanksgiving Weekend theft of tools and metals valued at $5,000 from a storage building in Hunter Industrial Park. 44-year-old Michael Robert “Mike” OConner of 220 Mill Rock Church Road, Gray Court was booked yesterday on charges of Burglary 2nd Degree and with Breaking Into Storage Unit to Steal Fuel.

  Laurens City Police Detective Tony Lynch states that between November 29th and December 2nd Michael Robert OConner cut the lock off a storage building at 114 Hunter Industrial Park Road and stole a quantity of tools, oxygen & acetylene tanks, welding rods, brass fittings and approximately 500 pounds of copper tubing in 20-foot lengths, valued at $5,000. The storage unit was owned by Jennings Dill, Inc. of Greenville and was on the property of Allupress. Detective Lynch also alleges that OConner broke into a storage  building located at 114 Hunter Industrial Park Road during the same time period and stole 25 gallons of diesel fuel which was stored in 5 gallon buckets.

  Mike OConner remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning, pending a bond hearing.
