County and State charges were served Saturday on a Waterloo woman. 42-year-old Jeannie McGarity Cartwright of 344 Red Bird Lane, Waterloo was charged with fraudulently obtaining drugs and with a bench warrant for a Driving Under the Influence charge. In the drug charge, a South Caroline DHEC agent states that on or about December 18th, 2013 at Bi-Lo Pharmacy, 1518 West Main Laurens Jeannie M. Cartwright unlawfully obtained a quantity of Alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance, by fraud. She allegedly used a prescription that the Doctor confirmed he did not issue. A Surety bond of $5,000 was set on the Drug charge. A DUI bench warrant, also served, noted a fine or 30 days. Ms. Cartwright remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
