Laurens City Court Sends Four to Jail

 Laurens City Police yesterday placed four people in the Johnson Detention Center following convictions in Laurens Municipal Court on charges of Attempting to Purchase Excessive Amounts of Ephedrine.

  Bench Warrants state that 30-year-old Timothy Rea “Timmy” Wells of 444 Mount Pleasant Estates Road, Laurens was convicted on six charges of the offence, including at least one noting 2nd Offense. He was sentenced to $265 or 30 days on each of the six convictions.

    46-year-old Linda Jean Thompson of 40 Flash Drive, Laurens was served with a warrant charging her with a new case of Attempt to Purchase Excessive Ephedrine on January 16th at a drug store on North Harper. Meanwhile, she was served with one Bench Warrant from City Court last October 10th with a sentence of $150 or 30 days and a new conviction for 2nd Offense Attempt to Purchase with a sentence of $500 or 30 days in jail.

    50-year-old Sheila James Gardner of 626 Conway Avenue, Laurens has Bench Warrants citing conviction yesterday on three charges of Attempt to Purchase. She was sentenced to $465 or 30 days on each of four warrants, with time to be served concurrently.

     32-year-old Holly Pearson Tredway of 206 Woodrow Street, Laurens had four Bench Warrants from Laurens Municipal Court yesterday, each citing conviction from four warrants charging Attempt to Purchase. She was sentenced to 390 days or $465 fines on each.

   While Timmy Wells, Linda Thompson and Shelia Gardner remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning, Holly Tredway was released on payment of her fines.
