LDHS Raiders Hosted Scrimamage Saturday

On Saturday August 4th, the LDHS Raiders hosted Chester, Mauldin, Midland Valley, Strom Thurmond and West Oak in a series of scrimmages with each team where they played for 30 minutes with a running clock.

Laurens offense appeared to be well on its way to be ready for the season opener with BHP on the 24th as they were able to move the ball against each opponent. Roderick Talley had several good runs scoring on both short burst and long runs. The offensive line looked good early on blocking for the Laurens backs.

Laurens defense was able to shut out the opponents in the first 3 scrimmages then gave up a couple of scores to the last 2 opponents. Tevin Barksdale had at least one interception for a touchdown and the secondary tipped several other passes away from the receivers.

Laurens will travel to Wren tomorrow to take on the Golden Hurricanes in a 6 pm scrimmage.
