  •  Registration for Laurens Little League Baseball and Softball is now underway is underway… Cost is $40 -It’s open to all residents of Laurens County. .Ages 3/4 Wee Ball, 5/6 Tee Ball., 7/8 Coaches Pitch, 9/10 Minors, 11/12 Majors.. Real Radio 860 WLBG Sports Report: 2-22-12

First as you know the CHS girls team will take on Wade Hampton this Sat. at 5pm up at the Bi-Lo Center for the upper state championship… Well if you want to get your tickets early, you need to drop by CHS as they have 200 tickets for sale on a first come, first serve basis.. The tickets are $10 each which is the price set by the SC High School League… 200 is all they have and they will NOT hold tickets for you.. Of course, tickets will be available at the Bi-Lo Center on Sat. 

Now a quick follow-up to last Friday night’s game where the CHS boys’ team fell to defending state champion Wade Hampton by 1 point. [Read more...]

Welcome this is your Real Radio 860 WLBG sports for a Tuesday and it’s brought to PC Athletics; PC’s baseball team will be in action today as they travel to Furman to take on the Paladins at 4pm.. Catching up on some PC basketball action, the men’s team traveled to Jacksonville, Ala. To take on Jacksonville State in a Sears BracketBuster game last Sat. and Jacksonville used a 20-4 run in the last 8 minutes to take a 67-48 win over the Blue Hose..   [Read more...]

1.1 seconds.. That’s how close the close the Clinton Red Devils were away from advancing to the 3rd round of the State 3-A playoffs last Friday night.  That’s how much time was left on the clock that defending 3-A champs Wade Hampton scored on the first of 2 free throws and then was able to capture the rebound of the next missed free throw to break a 58-58 tie and escape with a 1 point win over Clinton by a score of 59-58.. Welcome this is your Real Radio 860 WLBG sports for a Friday and it’s brought to Presbyterian College Athletics. Well you will be able to hear both the PC men’s and women’s team here on Real Radio 860 WLBG tomorrow.. Join Dr. Rhett Harris as he brings you all the action as the ladies host Radford from the Templeton Center at 3.. The pre-game will start at 2:30… Then later join John Avery coming to you from Jacksonville, Ala. as Gregg Nibert and his team take on Jacksonville State in the Sears BracketBuster Game.. The pre-game will start at 7:30 with tipoff scheduled for 8 pm..Of course, you can also get both games as they stream live on the internet at GoBlueHose.com.
Well there was 1 area basketball game last night as the CHS girls hosted Berea in the 2nd round of the State 3-A basketball playoffs… The Lady Red Devils weathered a 3 point 3rd period to take a 56-36 win over the Lady Bulldogs. [Read more...]

Well let’s start with high school basketball from last Friday night. The LDHS Raiders traveled to Greenwood to take on the Greenwood Eagles in their final regular season games. 

The boys team took the game down to the wire but did pull out a 54-52 win with 3.4 seconds left with Luquon Choice scoring the winning basket.. Real Radio 860 WLBG Sports Report: 2-10-12

Welcome this is your Real Radio 860 WLBG sports for a Friday and it’s brought to you by Presbyterian College Athletics.. Well last night the PC men’s basketball team picked up their 3rd win in a row as the defeated VMI 94-74 over at the Templeton Center… PC had three players scoring at least 20 points.. Al’Lonzo Coleman had 26 points to go along with his 12 rebounds while Josh Johnson added 22 and Khalid Mutakabbir added 20.  PC shot a season-best 59.6% from the floor for the entire game and 69.2% in the second half… The Blue Hose hope to make it 4 in a row Saturday as they host Liberty at 7 pm in the last home game of the season.. They will also be honoring their seniors on Saturday night..
