CHS:

  • Softball: Chapman 13 – CHS 1… The Lady Red Devil softball team traveled to Chapman last night and their defensive woes continue as they Chapman took a 13-1 win… Coach Templeton said that defensive errors were again the Red Devils biggest problem as they forced Jessica Wood to have to throw just too many pitches…. Brittany Templeton led the team with 2 hits and Wood had the Red Devils only RBI in the 2nd inning.
  • Baseball: CHS 2 – Chapman 1… Better news for the baseball team as they defeated Chapman at home by a score of 2-1… Chapman jumped out first putting up their only run in the 2nd inning… Clinton tied the game in the 3rd inning when Matt Craven singled and later stole 2nd… Brandon Pitts then singled driving in Craven… Clinton got the go ahead run in the 5th inning B. Pitts singled with 1 out… Colby Templeton followed with single putting runners on 1st & 2nd base with 1 out… A wild pitch then allowed each runner to move up a base… Dalton Foster then grounded out but Pitts was able to score on the play making it 2-1… Austin Wooten gets the complete game win giving up only 4 hits while striking out 7 and walking 2… Brandon Pitts led the Red Devils at the plate going 2-3… For more statistics on the game, click on the following: 2013-3-26__CHS-2__Chapman-1

  • Softball: LDHS 10 – Woodmont 6… In region softball action at LDHS last night, the Lady Raiders took a 10-6 win over the Lady Wildcats of Woodmont… Woodmont had a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the 4th inning when Laurens tied the game with 2 runs of their own…  Elizabeth Carmen  walked and Maria Williamson followed with a single that was misplayed for an error by the Woodmont outfielder allowing Carmen to score and Williamson to go to  3rd… Williamson scored when Jordan Henderson singled… Woodmont jumped back on top with 4 runs in the top of the 5th inning…. The lady Raider bats came alive in the bottom of the 5th inning as they pounded out 8 runs on 9 hits to take the lead for good… Tara Bond started the inning off with a single and the next 7 Raiders all had hits… Woodmont then finally got an out before Bond had another hit in the inning… Logan Hill picked up the win as she came in to pitch in the top of the 5th inning relieving Allison Foreback… Foreback came back [Read more...]

Welcome this is your Real Radio 860 WLBG sports for Tuesday and it’s brought to you by Presbyterian College Athletics… The PC baseball team took 2 of 3 from Winthrop last weekend up in Rock Hill to run their season record to 15-10 and 5-1 in Big South Action… They lost 1-3 on Friday and took both games in a doubleheader on Saturday by scores of 4-3 in 10 innings and 9-3 in the 2nd game… The Blue Hose start a 3 game series with Furman in Greenville on Thursday at 6:00 pm… The 2nd game will be on Friday at PC with 1st pitch at 3:00.. The series finale will be Saturday in Greenville.

  • JV Baseball: Union County 10 – CHS 4… Back on Friday the Union County JV baseball team defeated Clinton 10-4 handing the Red Devils their 1st loss of the season… Union had a 6 run 3rd inning that was the difference in the game.. The leading hitters for Clinton were Chandler Todd who went 3-4 and Delshun Young who went 2-3
  • Soccer: Union County 4 – CHS 2… Also in action last Friday the Union County soccer team took a 4-2 win over Clinton… Madison Simpson and Rodolfo Orozco each had a goal for the Red Devils.. Union had 19 shots on goal to Clinton’s 9… Jose Gayton made 12 saves in goal… Clinton is now 1-6 overall and 0-2 in region play. 

LDHS:

  • Tennis: JL Mann 7 – Laurens 0… Last Thursday the Raider tennis team faced off against JL Mann and the Patriots took a 7-0 win over the Raiders.
  • Boys Soccer: LDHS 4 – Westside 2… The Laurens Raiders boys’ soccer team was on the road last Friday traveling to Anderson to take on the Westside Rams… Good news in that the Raiders took a 4-2 win over the Rams… Four different Raiders had the goals… They were Hernan Salinas, Chris Molina, Henry Garcia and Esgar Diaz… The Raiders are now 3-4 overall and 2-3 in region action.

CHS:

  • Baseball: Union County 6 – CHS 5… The Clinton baseball team traveled to Union County last Friday night and Union picked up a run in the bottom of the 7th to take a 6-5 win in region action… Union got a run in the 1st inning and 3 in the 3rd to take a 4-0 lead… Clinton got on the board with 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning… Brandon Pitts led the inning off with a single and moved to 2nd when the next batter grounded out… Dalton Foster the singled scoring Pitts and he took 2nd on the throw… Kendall Pitts then singled scoring Foster… Clinton picked up their final 3 runs in the top of the 5th … Josh Simmons walked and Justin Foster sacrificed him to 2nd.. An error allowed Matt Craven to reach 2nd and Simmons to score… Colby Templeton later singled scoring Craven and he took 2nd on the throw…. An error by Union later allowed C. Templeton to score making it 5-4 Red Devils… Union came right back and tied the game in their half of the 5th inning with a single run to make it 5-5… Union County got the wining run with 2 out in the bottom of the 7th of a walk and a double… Justin Foster took the loss giving up the 6 runs (all earned) on 8 hits while striking out 3 and walking 5… The Red Devils only had 5 hits on the night by 5 different players… Clinton is now 4-7 overall and 2-2 in region play… They will be back in action Tuesday as they host Chapman… Click on the following for more statistics on the game: 2013-3-22__CHS-5__Union-6
  • Softball:  Union County 15 – CHS 1… Also last Friday the Lady Red Devil softball team hosted Union County and some defensive errors helped Union take a 15-1 win in 5 innings…. Clinton got its lone run in the 3rd inning when Jessica Wood drove in Allison Oxner… Clinton had 7 hits with Brittany Templeton, Cassie Nichols and Wood getting 2 each… Wood pitched the entire game and Coach Nickie Templeton said she pitched well but the errors were just too much to overcome.

LDHS:

  • Baseball: LDHS 9 – Westside 0… The Laurens Raider baseball team hosted the Rams of Westside in region baseball action Friday night… The Raiders upped their record to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in region play with a 9-0 win over the Rams at Ed Prescott Field… The Raiders got 3 runs in the 1st inning when with 2 out Trey Finley singled and then reached 2nd on a wild pitch… Grayson Bailes walked and Christian Burton then picked up his 1st of 4 singles on the night driving in Finley and moving Bailes to third as he took 2nd on the throw…. A Ram error then allowed Bailes & Burton to score…. Laurens scored their final 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning… In the inning a walk, hit batter, Westside error and singles by Shannon Smith, Thomas Jones, Cody Smiley, T. Finley and 2 by C. Burton were the reasons behind the 6 runs… Tanner Adair got the complete game win as he scattered 4 hits while striking out 4 and walking 2…. Welcome this is your Real Radio 860 WLBG sports for Friday and it’s brought to you by Presbyterian College Athletics… The Presbyterian College women’s basketball team’s season came to an end with a loss to Lamar in the opening round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational at Lamar State College-Port Arthur on Wednesday evening, 70-48…PC finishes the season with a 19-12 overall record, the most wins in a season since 2005-06 in its first trip to the postseason since 2001-02… Congratulation to Coach Fisher and the team on a great season.

  • Tennis: CHS 7 – Union County 0… The CHS boys’ tennis team traveled t Union County in region action yesterday and ran their region record to 2-0 as they defeated the yellow Jackets 7-0… Austin MacMillan, Alec Powell, Jay Peay, Isaac MacMillan & Robert Powell all had wins in singles action… Both doubles teams also picked up wins… The #1 doubles team was made up of A.   • Golf: Yesterday CHS, LDHS & Westside got together for a 3 way match at Lakeside C.C… Clinton shot a 169 to finish 1st while Laurens shot a 174 and Westside 186… Clinton was led by Hunter Nichols who shot a 36… He was edged out as the match medalist by Ryan Wright of Laurens who had a 35… Click on the following for more match details:2013-3-22_Golf
  • Baseball: Laurens 15 – Clinton 1… In the first meeting between the 2 old rivals in baseball for this year, Laurens took a 15-1 win over Clinton at Clinton last night… Laurens scored 5 runs in the 1st, 5 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th and 4 in the 5th  in route to the win… Clinton got their lone run in the 5th inning… Laurens collected 13 hits on the night with Di’Marcus Sanders, Trey Finley, Christian Burton, Hammer Walker and Shannon Smith each had 2 hits… One of Smith’s was a grand slam homerun… Clinton had 3 hits 1 each for Matt Craven, Hunter Stewart and Austin Wooten… Wooten’s was a double… You can get a more complete recap of the game at the respective schools athletic websites… Click on the following for more stats on the game: 2013-3-21_LDHS-BB 15_CHS-1

  • Softball: Laurens 22 – TL Hanna 1… The Lady Raider softball team traveled to Anderson last night to take on the Yellow Jackets of TL Hanna… The game only went 5 innings as the Raiders took their most lopsided win of the year defeating Hanna 22-1… Laurens jumped out on top scoring 11 runs in the top of the 1st inning and the game was never in question after that… Laurens added 5 in the 2nd, 1 in the 4th and 5 more [Read more...]

  • JV Baseball: CHS 8 – Woodruff 3… On Tuesday night the Clinton JV baseball team traveled to Woodruff and came back up the road with an 8-3 win.. Clinton scored 2 runs in the 1st & 2nd innings while adding 4 more in the 7th… Woodruff got 2 runs in the 5th and a single run in the 7th… Jeremy Simmons picked up the win for Clinton… Simmons also went 3-4 with a double… Clinton also played error-less ball.
  • JV Baseball: CHS 3 – Chapin 2… The red Devil JV baseball team was right back in action on Wednesday night as they hosted Chapin… Chapin had a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th inning but Clinton rallied and won the game on a 2 out single by Tyler Kelley… Tristan Smaltz picked up the complete game win pitching a 2 hitter… With the win, the JV record goes to 6-0.
  • Soccer: Woodruff 3 – CHS 2… On Tuesday of this week the Red Devil soccer team hosted the wolverines from Woodruff… It was a tight match that went 2 overtimes and had to be decided on penalty kicks and when it was all over, Woodruff had escaped with a 3-2 win… Madison Simpson and Joseph Rodriquez had Clinton’s two goals… Clinton had 15 shots on goal to Woodruff’s 17… Jerry Reaves had 12 saves for Clinton… Clinton’s record now stands at 1-5.
  • Boys Tennis: CHS 6 – Woodruff 0… Also last Tuesday the tennis team hosted Woodruff and the red Devils took a 6-0 win… Austin MacMillan, Alec Powell, Jay Peay, Isaac MacMillan and Robert Powell all had wins in singles action..   • Boys Tennis: CHS 4 – Riverside 3… On Wednesday the tennis team was right back in action as they hosted Riverside..   • Tennis: TL Hanna 7 – LDHS 0… On Tuesday the boys’ tennis team travelled to TL Hanna to take on what has traditionally been a tough TL Hanna Yellow Jacket tennis squad and it appears that they are keeping that tradition going as they took a 7-0 win over Laurens… Chris Mather had the best performance for the raiders but still came up short… Click on following for match details:2013-03-19_LDHS-0_Hanna-7
  • Golf…  Also on Tuesday the boys’ golf team traveled to Mauldin and took part in a 3-way match with JL Mann & Woodmont at the Hejaz Golf Club… Mann won shooting a 165 while Woodmont finished second with a 181..   • Baseball: CHS 8 – Woodruff 0…  The CHS baseball team hosted Woodruff last night and good news as the Red Devils snapped a 2 game losing streak as they took an 8-0 win over Woodruff in region action last night at home.. Clinton put 1 run on the board in the 1st inning when Matt Craven led off with a single and later scored on a single by Dalton Foster… Clinton added 6 more in the bottom of the 2nd inning… In the inning a couple of walks and singles by Austin Wooten, Josh Simmons, Matt Craven, Brandon Pitts and Dalton Foster were the catalyst for the runs… The Red devils last run came in the 3rd  as Kendal Pitts led off with a single and his courtesy runner Blake Riddle later scored on a single by Matt Craven… Austin Wooten picked up the complete game victory giving up only 4 hits while striking out 2 and walking 2… Click on the following for more game statistics: 2013-3-19__CHS-8__Woodruff-0_BB
  • Softball: Woodruff 16 – CHS 0… I don’t have any details other than the final score so I will go ahead and give you that…. In softball action, Woodruff took a 16-0 win over CHS up at Woodruff last night..

Welcome this is your Real Radio 860 WLBG sports for Tuesday and it’s brought to you by Presbyterian College Athletics… The Blue Hose baseball team took 2 out of 3 from UConn this past weekend running their record to 13-8 on the season… They took a 6-4 win in Clinton on Friday and lost 13-2 at Fluor Field on Saturday.. They took the rubber game of the series by a score of 5-4 in Clinton on Sunday… They will return to action tomorrow as they host the Wofford Terriers at home at 3:00… By the way, the girls softball team is not doing badly either, they are 14-12 on the season. 

Local sports: Most of the local sporting events were rained out due to the weather so we are going to do some “catching up” today

CHS:

  • Boys Tennis: CHS 4 – Emerald 3… Last Wednesday the CHS boy’s tennis team traveled to Greenwood to take on the Vikings of Emerald and the ride home was a good one as the Red Devils took a 4-3 win… In singles action, Austin MacMillan, Alec Powell & Isaach MacMillan all took wins..   • Boys Golf – Tee-Off Classic… Last Saturday the Raider golf team was back in action at the Tee-Off Classic at Star Fort in Ninety Six, SC…   They were one of 17 team participating in the event… Emerald won the tournament shooting a 308… Laurens shot a 345 and Ryan Wright and Justin Thomason led Laurens as they both shot 79… Click on the following for more details on the match: 2013-3-16_Tee-Off-Classic
  • Boys Tennis: Easley 7 – LDHS 0… The Raider tennis team had its 2 match winning streak broken last Thursday as Easley took a 7-0 win at the Laurens City Park… A couple of the individual matches were close but the Raiders just could not quite pull one out… Click on the following for match details: 2013-03-14_LDHS-0_Easley-7 

NOTE: LDHS – CHS baseball….The Laurens @ Clinton baseball games that were postponed yesterday due to weather have been partially rescheduled…. The varsity games is now slated for this Thursday at 6:00… JV is yet to be rescheduled. 

College Notes:

  • While no men’s basketball team made it into the NCAA Men’s basketball Championship field one of the women’s teams did make it to the women’s “Big Show” and that is the Gamecocks of the Univ. of South Carolina… Coach Dawn Staley and the team received a #4 seed in the Norfolk Regional… They will travel to Boulder, Colorado and take on #12 seed South Dakota State in a 4:10 pm (ET) contest this Saturday which will be televised on ESPN2… South Carolina finished 24-7 on the season and made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen last year..

  • The Laurens YMCA will hold its 9th Annual Golf Tournament March 28, 2013 at lakeside Country Club.. This is one of the major fund raising events for the Y Scholarship Program. Last year alone the Y awarded just under $132,00 in scholarship..   • Laurens YMCA Carolinas Metro Youth Baseball Clinic: The Laurens Y will be conducting the Carolinas Metro Youth Baseball Clinic Saturday March 30th, 2013 at Collyar Park. It will be a fun clinic that stresses the skills needed to make you the best player you can be.. One of the instructors will be Morris Madden of Laurens.   • The City of Laurens Parks & Recreation announces the registration period for the Intermediate Baseball League.  The league is for ages 11-13.  Players may not turn 14 before May 1st.  Cost is $50 and includes a hat and Jersey.  The league is structured more like High School ball, being played on a 50′/70′ dimension.  Players can use big barrel bats and get lead offs on base.  Registrations will end on March 30th with teams organizing after Spring Break.  For more information on the league or to register please visit the Little River Park daily from 1-6 or Saturdays from 10-6.  You can also call 681-7275 for information.

  • Baseball: Chester 8 – CHS 7… Last Friday night the Red Devil baseball team traveled to Chester and for the 2nd night in a row the Red Devils lost by a single run as Chester took an 8-7 win in region play… Chester scored a single run in their half of the 1st inning but the s picked up 2 run in the top of the 2nd inning.. Dalton Foster led off with a double to left field and moved to 3rd when Hunter Stewart grounded out… He then scored on a wild pitch.. Kendal Pitts then walked and his courtesy runner Charles McKinney then scored on back-to-back singles by Bradley Templeton & Josh Simmons to make it 2-1 Red Devils… Clinton added another run in the 3rd Matt Craven singled then stole 2nd and moved to 3rd on a passed ball. He then scored n a ground out by Colby Templeton making it 3-1… Chester tied the game with 2 runs in their half of the 3rd aided by walks, a hit batter, a wild pitch and an error… Chester then broke on top with a 4 run 4th inning… Clinton came right back in the 5th inning and put 3 on the board to make the score 7-6 Chester.. The key hit in the inning was a triple by Colby Templeton to unload the bases after a Cyclone error and 2 walks had loaded them..  Chester picked up another run in the 6th inning to make it 8-6… Clinton attempted to rally in the 7th and did pick up 1 run but could get no closer and the final score was 8-7 Chester..  Clinton only had 5 hits on the evening and they were all by different players..   • Baseball: LDHS 9 – TL Hannah 3… In region action last Friday night at LDHS the Raider baseball team took a 9-3 decision over the TL Hannah Yellow Jacket with Tanner Adair picking up the complete game victory..  The Raiders picked up a single run in the 1st when Christian Burton who walked was brought in after a fielder’s choice and 2 hit batters.. The Raiders then erupted for 5 runs in the 3rd inning… Burton lead the inning off with a double and scored on a single by Cody Smiley.. A single by Trey Finley and Grayson Bailes being hit by a pitch loaded the bases… Hammer Walker then tripled over the center fielder to clear the bases of runners in front of him… Tanner Adair then singled Walker home to make it 6-0… Laurens added its last 3 runs in the 4th inning as Smiley and Finley both singled with 1 out.. Bailes then drew a walk to load the bases and Walker also walked brining in a run… Adair was then hit by a pitch scoring the 2nd run of the inning and the last run was scored on a throwing error by the right fielder… Hannah picked up their 3 runs in the top of the 7th as Adair began to tire a little… Adair gave up 6 hits, 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3… The Raiders had 11 hits with 5 players getting 2 hits each… They were Di’Markus Sanders, Christian Burton, Cody Smiley, Trey Finley and hammer Walker.. Welcome this is your Real Radio 860 WLBG sports for Friday and it’s brought to you by Presbyterian College Athletics… Now that basketball season is over for PC we will be turning our attention to other sports like baseball & softball… The PC baseball team took a 3-1 victory over Wofford on Wednesday up in Spartanburg improving their record to 11-7 on the season.. The Blue Hose will host UConn in a weekend series with the 1st game today at 3 PM.. They will play at Fluor Field in Greenville tomorrow at 6 PM and finish the series back in Clinton on Sunday at 1 PM… UConn normally has a tough team, should be a good test for PC… Go Blue Hose!

CHS:

  • Soccer: CHS 5 – Dixie 2… Yesterday at the CHS soccer field the Red Devils defeated Dixie 5-2 for their 1st win of the season.. Madison Simpson had 3 goals to lead the Red Devil attack.. Rodolfo Orozco and Jay Roland each had a goal.. Clinton had 13 shots on goal to Dixie’s 14 and Jerry Reaves saved 6 of those shots in goal..
  • Golf: CHS defeats Abbeville & Crescent… Also yesterday the golf team traveled to Abbeville and they too had a nice ride home as they shot a 179 to defeat both Abbeville (198) and Crescent (224)… Hunter Nichols was match medalist with a 38.. Scores for other CHS players were; Nate Moody 43, Zach Davis 47 and Harrison Fisher 51..  The Red Devils are now 4-3 on the season.
  • Baseball: Newberry 7 – CHS 6… The Red Devil baseball team traveled to Newberry last night and lost a heart-breaker as Clinton scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning to tie the game 6-6 only to have the Bulldogs score a run with 2 outs in their half of the 7th to take a 7-6 win.. Newberry struck 1st getting a run in the bottom of the 1st but Clinton got 3 in the top of the 2nd to make it 3-1.. Dalton Foster, Hunter Stewart, Kendal Pitts & Josh Simmons all had key hits in the inning..  Clinton added another run in the 3rd with 2 outs when K. Pitts singled and was later driven in by J. Simmons.. Newberry got 1 run in their half of the 3rd to make it 4-2 still Clinton on top… In the bottom of the 5th Newberry erupted for 4 runs to take a 6-4 lead… Clinton scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th to tie the game.. A walk to D. Foster, a double by H. Stewart and a walk to K. Pitts loaded the bases.. Back-to-back walks to Austin Wooten & Justin Foster then tied the game… K. Pitts then tried to score the go-ahead run on a fly ball out and was thrown out at home..  In the bottom of the 7th, Newberry got a runner on via the walk after 1 out and then scored later on a 2-out single to win the game..   • Girls Soccer: Easley 7 – LDHS 2.. Back on Tuesday the girls’ soccer team traveled to Easley and unfortunately the Lady Green Wave took a 7-2 win… Macy Greer and Jessica Ackerman had the Raider Goals..

Local sports:

CHS:

  • Baseball: CHS 3 – Broome 1…. The Red Devils opened region play last night at home against Broome and Justin Foster gave up only 1 hit in a complete game win as Clinton defeated Broome 3-1… Clinton got on the board first in the 5th inning when Josh Simmons was hit by a pitch and later stole second… He then scored on a Broome error… Broome tied the game in the top of the 6th with their only run of the evening… Clinton regained the lead scoring their last 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th..  Dalton Foster reached on an error and moved to 2nd on a single by Hunter Stewart… A sacrifice by Kendal Pitts advanced the runners to 3rd & 2nd.. Foster then scored from 3rd on a passed ball.. One batter later, Stewart scored on a wild pitch… In route to the win, Justin Foster struck out 3 and walked 4…. Clinton managed only 4 hits on the night.. Matt Craven, Dalton Foster, Hunter Stewart and Kendal Pitts all had 1 hit each with Pitts’ being a double….   • JV baseball: CHS 5 – Chapin 4 in 8 innings…  The Red Devil JV baseball team traveled to Chapin and took a 5-4 win but it took 8 innings to do so..  Tristan Smaltz picked up the win for Clinton with Davis Cunningham picking up a save.. Leading the Red Devil attack was Braden Webb who went 3-4 with a triple and Cunningham who went 3-3… The JVs are off to a great start with a 4-0 record. 

CHS-LDHS

  • Boys soccer: LDHS 6 – CHS 1… Yesterday we had the 2 cross county rivals Laurens and Clinton get together in boys soccer at LDHS… When the match ended the Raiders had taken a 6-1 win over the Red Devils… Clinton’s lone goal was registered by Madison Simpson on a penalty kick..  Tim Moore, Esgar Diaz, Hernan Salinas, Matt Henderson and Kevin Gonzales had goals for the Raiders… Clinton had 12 shots on goal to Laurens 15..  For Clinton, Jerry Reaves had 3 save in goal & Jose Gayton 2…  For Laurens, Casey Downs had 6 saves and Alberto Martinez 0… Clinton is now 0-4 on the season and Laurens 2-1. 

LDHS

  • Tennis: LDHS 5 – Woodmont 2… Catching up with some Laurens tennis results from Monday afternoon, the raiders traveled to Woodmont and picked up their 2nd win in a row as they defeated the Wildcats 5-2… Picking up wins in singles action were Chris Mather, Jacob Freeze, Thomas Hughes and Collin John…  The #1 doubles team of Freeze and Mather also picked up win… Click here for match details: 2013-03-11_LDHS-5_Wood-2
  •       Boys Golf: Greenwood 154 – LDHS 168… Back on Tuesday afternoon the Raider boys’ golf teams hosted the Greenwood Eagles at Lakeside C.C…. Unfortunately the Eagles took the match 154 to 168… Laurens’ Ryan Wright was match medalist with a 35… Justin Thomason gave him a run for it with a 36..  In JV action, Laurens turned the tables shooting a 194 while Greenwood shot 202..   • The Laurens YMCA will hold its 9th Annual Golf Tournament March 28, 2013 at lakeside Country Club.. This is one of the major fund raising events for the Y Scholarship Program. Last year alone the Y awarded just under $132,00 in scholarship..   • Laurens YMCA Carolinas Metro Youth Baseball Clinic: The Laurens Y will be conducting the Carolinas Metro Youth Baseball Clinic Saturday March 30th, 2013 at Collyar Park. It will be a fun clinic that stresses the skills needed to make you the best player you can be.. One of the instructors will be Morris Madden of Laurens.   • Laurens Little League announces the registration period for the Intermediate Baseball League.  The league is for ages 11-13.  Players may not turn 14 before May 1st.  Cost is $50 and includes a hat and Jersey.  The league is structured more like High School ball, being played on a 50′/70′ dimension.  Players can use big barrel bats and get lead offs on base.  Registrations will end on March 30th with teams organizing after Spring Break.  For more information on the league or to register please visit the Little River Park daily from 1-6 or Saturdays from 10-6.  You can also call 681-7275 for information.
