Born in Mountville, SC Emil Finley started his broadcast career at WBDU-AM &
FM in Union , SC where he worked with WSPA TV 7's own Jack Roper.
A Clinton High School graduate, Emil's career has spanned four decades and taken him to management and ownership duties at stations from North and South Carolina all the way to Indiana.As owner and General Manager of WLBG for the last 22 years, Emil's finger has been on the pulse of local news ever since.As the anchor of WLBG's UpCountry's Morning News Magazine Emil always keeps
people both informed and entertained.

Randy Stevens came to WLBG to enjoy a "hobby" that is only a dream to most people. The chance to go from loyal listener to co-host of a week day talk show.He started doing the talk show with Emil in 1994.Cutting edge from the start has been the theme for the self professed "Man of Steele."

Randy brings his very unique angst to Good Morning UpCountry. Randy's brash
and over the top style definitely sparks interest and response from
listeners. And certainly no subject is taboo when it comes to Randy.From taking on County Council to his strong opposition to a city wide smoking ban you always know where Randy stands on an issue.Randy also is heavily involved in the Patriot Guard as a ride captain. The Patriot Guard assists with retired military personnel and those who served in the military.They display flags at the service and assist the family in any way that the family request including acting as an honor guard

Gene Pinson, or Big Gene as he is known on the air, is originally from
Clinton, and has been married to the former Ann Babb of Laurens for nearly
thirty years. They have twin 18 year olds sons, Joel and Justin, who are
seniors at Laurens District 55 High School. He is a graduate of Clinton High
School and Limestone College with a degree in Business and Marketing. Big Gene's favorite hobbies are dirt track racing, high school and middle school sports, and reading. In fall 1998 station manager Emil Finley and Big Gene were talking about Emil's difficulty in finding a salesman for the upcoming holiday season. Big Gene offered to help out temporarily until Emil could find a salesperson, and over eight years later he is still waiting for Emil to find someone.

As the long time anchor of the highly rated Gospel Express, Rev. Anthony
Sims keeps listeners locked in with the best of Black Gospel.Rev. Sims is heavily involved in the community having served on the chaplain staff of the Laurens County Health Care System. He also is heavily involved with Piedmont Technical College.Rev. Sims has been a integral part in local fund raising efforts for several local charities as well as individuals.Rev. Sims is a key link to the stations long standing African-American audience.

John Avery hosts IN THE ZONE FOR SPORTS on WLBG weekdays from 4-6 p.m. From local and national sporting news, to interviews with sports figures and
prominent sports columnists, to commentary on local events, John always
entertains and challenges his audience! He also provides the play by play
voice for Laurens District 55 sporting events, putting together one of the
best high school sports productions in the state. A native of Columbia, SC,
John comes to WLBG with over twenty years experience in radio. He has been
the public address voice for both the Capital City Bombers minor league
baseball team and the Columbia Inferno hockey team. Most recently, before
moving to Laurens County, John hosted the morning sports talk show on ESPN
Radio in Columbia, SC. John is married to the former Amanda Ballew of
Clinton and is the father of three sons, and a daughter who is sure to
follow in her father's footsteps!

Wyatt Mattison
Wyatt Mattison is a musician, broadcaster and music historian. He has
performed with many blues, gospel and country musicians and worked as a
studio musician in Memphis, Muscle Shoals, and Jackson. He has interviewed many legends that we have lost as well as some of the greats that are still around. He has written articles for "Goldmine", and "Rockabilly" magazines as well as historical pieces on artists and record companies. His extensive collection of gospel, country, and rythm and blues recordings rivals that of any collector on the east coast. He specializes in finding and preserving the music of South Carolina artists and their recordings on local labels.
